Why We Made This

We need universal healthcare. And a Green New Deal. And major budget cuts to our racist, militarized police. And drastic immigration reform. And to end our senseless military meddlings around the world. We must abolish the concept of billionaires and the stranglehold they've got on decision-makers. All this needs to happen yesterday.  Popular liberal satire these days, with the exception, perhaps, of John Oliver, is painfully middleground. So we make lefty parodies.

Our pieces are bereft of the misleading "Dems=Good, Repubs=Bad" dichotomy.
We commit to criticizing both parties without discrimination when they go against progressive values.

Radical Rhymes is the newest incarnation of previous artistic collections such as Rhymes for a Revolution and Seuss for Sanders, and some works published under those titles are included here.

This site has no financial aspirations; we aren't selling anything and the answer is always, yes, feel free and encouraged to download and share. We would love that!

Check our Resources tab to find links to food banks, legal assistance for immigrants and workers, LGBTQIA+ support orgs, etc, and pass them on to folks who might need them.

Contact us with comments and suggestions. Make sure those are submitted in rhyme.

Meira Marom is a Brooklyn-based writer, lyricist, teacher, and political activist.

She has published children’s literature and poetry, has written and staged
a musical celebrating the values of the Bernie Sanders movement, and has posted hundreds of haikus, limericks, acrostic poems, and Seuss-inspired rhymes advocating for those values.

When she is not radically-rhyming, she teaches adults and kids, participates in protests, marches, and organizing meetings, and tries to persuade her magnificent dog, Frieda, to go get the ball (a work in progress).

Aaron Simons is an artist and designer who, like all recent graduates, wants to save the world. He loves music, poetry, digital design, theatre, impressions, comedy, and Twix bars.

Aaron met Meira in 2020 and they instantly connected over a shared love of showtunes, language, and speaking truth to power. When he isn’t editing videos for Radical Rhymes, he directs plays and designs logos. Check out some of his work here.
